detox

So, I said I'd be posting a photo and an honest assessment today. Well, there isn't a photo, but there will be an honest assessment. I just don't think posting a photo every 5lbs is necessary! :P

Anyways, this past week was insane, I mean i.n.s.a.n.e!!! My day job I work for a professional association and management company. I manage a professional association and with that, I help plan/run all their meetings, as well as attend them all. Anyways, this week/weekend was a meeting. It's my favorite part of the job, but it's always so busy and very tiring.

I wasn't able to run or eat very healthy. You eat what you can find or what's provided. Fortunately, I compromised with major portion control. These meetings always force me to become dependent on caffeine. WAY TOO MUCH DIET SODA!

Needless to say, I'm anxious to "detox" so to speak and get back on my running schedule. Since I'm less than 2 weeks away from my next half marathon, I'm cutting out all caffeine and alcohol until after race day!

My half marathon is two weeks from yesterday. I'm very excited! People keep asking me if I'm ready. My genuine response is, "I'm not as ready as I wanted to be, but much more ready than my last half marathon." So, I think I'm in pretty good shape! :)

  1. I just came across your blog and it is amazing how much you have done in a year. I just started running and i hope i am able to make that kind of progress. any suggestions for a new runner who is starting with a 5k?

  3. hang in there. i'm feeling way undertrained for mine as well, but it's been one of those years... i think i'd also been a little undertrained than injured due to being overtrained. lol
