2010 - Year of the Races...

...ok maybe I just now made that up, but whatever! It's my blog!

I took a page from my crazy runner chica friend over at Psychobabbles of a Running Fool (if you like to laugh I suggest reading her blog! -- seriously "ass hat" is a commonly used word in her blog!). See J, told you'd I'd give you love for your idea! ;)

So here it is...the 2010 race schedule (so far!). Are you planning on running any of the races? Let me know!!!

February 14, 2010 - Austin, TX
Austin Half Marathon

April 11, 2010 - Dallas, TX
Big D Texas Half Marathon

July 25, 2010 - San Francisco, CA
San Francisco Half Marathon

October 17, 2010 - Long Beach, CA
Long Beach Marathon (my first marathon!)

December 5, 2010 - Las Vegas, NV
Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon

This seems to be the schedule for the year. Obviously things can change and I'm open to that. I'm the type of person, however, that needs plans. Plans can be changed, but I need to start with something!

Have you done one of these races? Planning to? Let me know!

  1. I ran the Austin half last year and loved it! But holy hills, they killed me! (I had been training in flat as a pancake Houston). In 2007 I was signed up for the Big D half which would have been my first but traffic was so bad getting to the Cotton Bowl that by the time we got there it was closed and I ended up doing the 5K. I know lots of other people who have done it and loved it but so my advice is to get there early! Your schedule looks awesome! Yay for running in Texas!!

  2. that is a very nice looking race calendar!
im still working on my, but by reading your, i am inspired to work on mine and get it done!
    thank you!

  3. You'll be traveling for the majority of them - what fun! I am considering the San Antonio RNR Marathon in November so it looks like we might be training around the same time!

Are you considering any 5Ks or 10Ks?

  4. I'm planning on SF in July - probably the Half so I can finish the California Dreaming series (Long Beach, Surf City and San Francisco).

Also I see you're planning on Long Beach in October. I ran that last year. Flat and fast - just be ready or a grueling 13 miles on concrete.

Hope to meet you in San Francisco!

  5. Hey girlfriend, thanks for the shout out :)
Me lovies your race schedule. I've always wanted to do Vegas. Hmmmm, could 2010 be my year?

I'm stupid excited for your first marathon!!! 2010 is YOUR year of races :) Get em girl.

  6. That's a great list and plan! Running races give me a purpose. Those races are so diverse... good planning!

  7. Yay for running in Dallas! :o) Can't wait to follow your progress as you traing for your first full marathon. You are going to LOVE every (most every) minute of it!

What's on your mind?
