Plan it out!

My mom always told me: luck is when preparation meets opportunity.

I’m a travel junkie.  And my travel season has begun!  I’ll be in 9 different cities this summer and I refuse to let it interfere with my weight loss!  This means that if I want to continue to lose weight, I need to PLAN IT OUT!

Houston was fairly easy.  I was there for Friday night and left first thing Saturday morning.  We went to a Suns game (they were playing the Rockets – and won!) so I researched best stadium foods for Weight Watchers.  The winner?  I was delightfully surprised…hot dog!  Yep, weighing it at only 7 points, the hot dog was one of the best options.  So I got one.  And loved it!

We’re going to Chicago for our 1 year wedding anniversary.  It’s not until April 29, but we are celebrating a little early.  Chicago next weekend is going to be a little more challenging.  They have Italian Beef sandwiches there.  Not only do they have them, but that’s one of their specialties.  Like the Philly Cheesesteak in Philadelphia.  So – the plan you ask?  I’m scouring websites to find the best options for everywhere we go – and save some points to have at least half of an Italian Beef Sammich!

I’m going to stalk up on my go-to, low point, tide-you-over snack: Fiber One Bars.  Each bar only has 4 points and really does tide you over for a bit.  I’m researching both Wrigley Field and United Center (where the Bulls play) to figure out what they have.  Many stadiums and arenas are offering awesome healthy choices these days.  Chase Field (home of the Arizona Diamondbacks) has several healthy options, including Gluten Free stands.  Awesome, right?

I’m also checking out the sit-down restaurants around the areas that we will be spending time.  Checking out their menus.  And plugging those foods into the Weight Watchers calculator to figure out what’s best. I figure if I plan it, and know what I’m going to get (or at least narrow it down) ahead of time, there will be less chance for “whoops” and more chance for SUCCESS!

And with that, I don’t have a super awesome closing statement; I’ll just leave you with some super awesome photos instead.  What do you expect?  I’m a photographer.

I had the honor to photograph this lovely lady a few weekends ago.  Her wedding was this Saturday, so I was able to post the photos of her this weekend (since her fiance hadn't seen the dress, we wanted to keep it a secret.)  Go check our her photos:

This is me, this past weekend.  nearly 13 pounds lost and counting!
